Easy to join, hard to resist! We have something for everyone. To begin, stop by during our open hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm; Thursday evenings we are open until 6:30.
On certain Saturday evenings we have dances but are not open as a regular functioning day.
In the Lobby you will find the Ambassadors station. Ask them for a green registration form. Quick form, front/back, easy. They will process your registration and you will get an ID badge made in the next 5-7 business days. These ID badges are NOT MAILED but can be picked up from that desk in about 5 days.
Oh, did I mention it is free to register? Some of the classes may be $3 to $6 but we have plenty of classes with no charge at all. The Ambassadors will give you a newsletter which includes a daily calendar and will take you on a tour of the facility. The calendar has the name, phone number and email address of each of our instructors so if you have specific questions you can contact them directly. You can get a lunch menu, too. Dining in our Friendship Cafe is for seniors age 60 and older but if you are younger just play the $5 lunch fee. This would be a great place for me to let you know that we do not serve institutional food; we have the services of an outstanding caterer.
We often get asked, “I don’t live in Wilmington or New Hanover County, can I still come to the Center for activities?” A B S O L U T E L Y ! ! It does not matter where you live.
If you have questions I did not answer, please call me at 910-798-6409 and I will answer them or direct you to another one of our brilliant staff who can answer your question. As Bob Barker once said many times, “COME ON DOWN!”
