The Over Fifties Dance Club’s mission is to provide a venue for Ballroom and Social dancing. We encourage dancers of all levels of proficiency to enjoy this great form of exercise and to socialize with others who also like to dance. The club holds a dance on the second Tuesday of each month at the New Hanover Senior Resource Center. A variety of DJ’s play all kinds of dance music – Ballroom, Latin, Shag, Rock & Roll, Country, Slow Nightclub. Ask them and they’ll play your favorites. There is Line Dancing throughout the night and a Mixer besides. The dance starts at 7:30pm and ends at 10pm. Admission is $8.00 per person plus a 2 liter bottle of soda or some finger food to share. Singles and couples welcome. Dress is smart/casual. Please contact Tim Gugan: 620-8423. Check out our website for more information – www.overfiftiesdanceclub.org

Membership to the Cotillion is open to the public and is structured for couple memberships. Presently, there are 38 couples. Members enjoy the standard ballroom dances such as the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Samba and an occasional polka. Music is provided by both live entertainers and by DJs.
The Cotillion has a dinner/dance on a monthly basis. The dance starts at 7pm and ends at 10pm. The dance is held the first Saturday night of the month at the Senior Center, 2222 South College Road, next to Hoggard High School. Use the service road near student parking to access the Senior Center. There are no dances during the months of January and July. December’s dance is a more formal and is usually held at UNCW’s facility. Dress is jacket and tie for the men February through May and October through December. June and August is casual dress.
Some dances have catered menus, others are potluck.
At this time, the membership is $180 per year, prorated. The only requirements to join are to come as a guest for two sessions and apply for membership.
At each dinner/dance there is a short business meeting to keep the club running. It has the typical organization structure with a few committee positions unique to the mission.
