This affects seniors who use the Table Games Room (TGR) for games such as Bridge, Pinochle, Canasta, Scrabble, and others.
In an effort to help meet the nutritional needs of NHC older adults, the new Table Games Room (TGR) playing times will allow for overflow dining. The TGR was selected for overflow dining because of its access to the dining room (Friendship Café). The change will beginning January 2, 2019 and the new TGR schedule will allow 1.5 hours for dining and clean up. We are and will continue to explain the reason for the change of the TGR hours, listen to all participant concerns, and make every effort to meet the scheduling/program needs fairly.
Please be advised:
*Table Games Room (TGR) hours Monday through Friday effective January 2, 2019.
Due to an increased number of nutrition participants enjoying the lunches available in the Friendship Café we have outgrown the seating availability. Effective Wednesday, January 2, 2019; NEW Table Games Room (TGR) hours will go into effect to meet SRC program and service needs. Morning table games participants may begin their play at 8:00am and end play at 11:30am. (3 and ½ hours). The TGR will be available for nutrition participants from 11:30am until 12:30pm. The 12:30pm until 1:00pm time is needed for NHC Housekeeping to prepare the TGR for table games. Afternoon table games participants may begin their play at 1:00pm and end play at 4:30pm. (3 and ½ hours). Nutrition serving times are at 11:30am-12:15pm. Registration and 24-hour advance notice is required. (Margaret Bryant 798-6420 or Ellen Connor 798-6412 for more information regarding nutrition programming & services and to register for lunch). We realize table games are enjoyable, however; we must consider and accommodate the nutritional needs of New Hanover County residents. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
