- Is there a fee to visit Airlie Gardens?
-
Yes, the cost is $9 for adults, $5 for NHC Residents and Military, and $3 for children aged 4 to 12 years. Admission is free for NHC Residents on the first Sunday of every month. (Proof of ID is needed for NHC Residents and Military.)
- Can I bring my pet to Airlie?
-
Due to the unpredictable nature of animals, Airlie does not allow pets in the Gardens. Pets are not conducive towards our focus on water quality, wildlife, visitor comfort and manicured horticulture.
- Can I fish or kayak at Airlie?
-
Fishing and kayaking are not daily experiences offered at the gardens. We do offer kayaking and fishing programs through the Environmental Education Program. Please check the events calendar to view a list of our scheduled programs.
- Can I park at River Road Park or Trails End Park to camp on one of the islands?
-
No, we only allow parking at Trails End Park for those who are utilizing the boat slip to actively fish. However, the park itself closes at sunset. River Road Park closes at sunset and does not allow overnight parking.
- Can I have a fundraising event in the park?
-
Yes, you may have a fundraising event if you are an established non-profit organization or sponsored by an established non-profit organization and be able to provide us with your tax ID number.
- Can children using mobility devices use the splashpad at Long Leaf Park? What if my mobility device cannot tolerate moisture?
-
Yes! The Splashpad is accessible to anyone using a mobility device. We also have a water wheelchair that can be used by those whose mobility devices cannot tolerate moisture. Contact the parks and gardens office at 910-798-7620 to use the water wheelchair.
