Facility & Grounds Reservation Requests

Reservations for the picnic area are not required. It is available on a first come first served basis during normal business hours from 8 am to 5 pm daily.

Reservation requests are not needed for personal photography sessions during regular business hours. Photography requests for access to the gardens after 5 pm should be submitted on this form. After-hours photography is only available Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 pm (fee charged).

Events that require the closure of the Arboretum grounds to the general public are generally only allowed after 5 pm.

Throughout the year we may occasionally close the gardens for ticketed events or private parties. Please call the Arboretum at 910-798-7660 a few days prior to your visit to confirm availability.

    RESERVATIONS ARE NOT BEING ACCEPTED FROM JULY 2024 THROUGH DECEMBER 2025 DUE TO THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF OUR NEW FACILITY.

    Staff will review submissions and notify guests within 5 business days of the status of the request by email.

    We invite you to work together with us to achieve the following environmental objectives for your event / meeting.

    Low Waste

    • No single-use disposable containers or serviceware including Styrofoam. Single-use compostable items are allowed.
    • Composting of organic matter, including food waste.
    • Recycling or reuse of paper, metal, and glass.
    • Personal refillable water bottles are encouraged.
    • Food that is left over from the event is to be donated to a charitable organization.
    • Source seasonal produce which has been sustainably grown and locally sourced as possible.
    • Encourage ride sharing to the event or the taking of public transportation.
    • Use paperless technology as much as possible for event information and speaker presentations
