For ages 50 and up, the Senior Games held each spring in Wilmington are a qualifier for the fall State Senior Games in Raleigh. The local Games have over 70 sporting events such as track & field, court sports, golf, running, swimming, cycling, bowling, basketball, softball, (and many more) for athletes and active adults. The SilverArts side of the games has over 30 events in literature, music, performance arts and heritage arts like pottery, weaving, sculpture and more. There is something for everyone! Volunteers are always welcome to help with the annual games which are the longest running Games in the state. Personal pre-season training is available at the YMCA for sporting events.
